Turbine Tower Adaptor
In the wind energy sector, the turbine tower is bolted the foundation and to the nacelle. In offshore wind farms the tower is bolted to the transition piece, and during transport to the offshore wind farm it is bolted to a tower stand on the installation vessel.
In all these instances, machining is a central process with the purpose of making a perfect match between the bolted rods and the holes in the flanges. The CNC machining of flanges ensures the flatness and straightness of the flange and that the holes match the bolts on the tower section.
East Metal has very large CNC-machines and we therefore have the capability to machine very large items. This is a clear advantage, as we can machine the final product after welding, and thus correct deformations of the steel structure.
