Offshore: Secondary steel components for Transition Pieces
The industry
The Danish offshore industry was established in the 1970s with the build-up of the Danish oil fields in the North Sea. After 2000 we have seen a supplement to this industry, as an extensive production of offshore wind turbines is installed in the wind farm in the oceans around Denmark. This has led to increased growth and a large number of jobs.
East Metal is a subcontractor for both industries: oil and gas installations and offshore wind farms with production capabilities, know-how and products that can withstand climatic tough conditions at sea.
Transition Piece
A transition piece is a reinforcing element in the wind turbine's supporting structure.
Located between wind turbine and foundation, it helps stabilize and counteract wind and wave loads.
The transition piece also carries secondary steel elements such as boat-landing, ladders and platforms, which together provide access to maintenance and operation of the turbine.
East Metals competencies fully cover the secondary steel elements and can ensure functional and competitive products.
